Why I am thankful to live in North Stafford?
I am thankful to live in North Stafford because I feel that it is a safe place for everyone to live. I love living in a community where I am able to play games outside and I feel that my neighbors all watch over me. There is a real sense of family and community in North Stafford. Recently my dad came home from an eighteen month deployment. To our surprise when we drove down our street, the entire block was lined with American flags and every mailbox on the block had a red white and blue ribbon on it. These were put out by an unknown neighbor. I like that I live only two hours away from the mountains and the beach. I think that Stafford has great schools and all kinds of stores and restaurants within a short distance. North Stafford ROCKS! Claire --- 3rd Grade

What I am Thankful For ... By Frankelly..4th Grade

I am thankful for living in Stafford County and to go to a safe school. Also, I am glad to have a family that loves me and to have great friends. I am thankful for being alive, seeing, smelling, and tasting.
Secondly, I am thankful for having the best fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Davis and also, Mrs. Ramsey my ESL teacher. In September I was voted to be student of the month for Fairness. Students in my class put together a book containing thoughts and pictures which I can keep the rest of my life.
Lastly, I am thankful for having a home to live in. Also, I am thankful for the troops for protecting our country, being a free American and a citizen of the U.S.A. These are all the things I am thankful for in Stafford County.

======================================What I love about living in North Stafford County, Virginia is that it is close to Washington D.C., with all that history and important places. I live in the state with the most civil war citings. We also live in a close knit community. The people who I go to school and church with I see in a lot of my activities in the area. One is the Upward Basketball League. People in my church and my school make up my team.
Another thing that I like about North Stafford is living close to my school. I truthfully live 3 minutes away. Stafford is also the 19th richest county in the country. Some of the money is given to the schools. That is why we have great schools with a lot of resources for learning. We have been given a lot of new things for our school.
I love living in North Stafford because I live really close to the Quantico Marine Base. It is a big marine base. It is an important part of our community that brings many different people from all over the world to our area. The marine museum is close by too. That is a really nice place to visit. The last thing I like about living in North Stafford is all the cool stores that are close to my house. My favorite restaurant is Moe’s, which is right next door to my favorite store, The Game Stop. Why I Am Thankful to Live in North Stafford….…By Matthew…4th grade------------------------There are many reasons I am thankful for living in North Stafford. There are great schools here that have awesome teachers and students. The people who live here have many choices for jobs, housing, restaurants, and shopping in our community. Our area also has lots of places for recreation. There are many opportunities to experience wildlife and nature, such as fishing and other outdoor activities. I have a great feeling about this area of Stafford because it has nice people. I am very thankful to live near our proud Marines at Quantico and other military members in our community. This is a great essay! I thought that you summarized the highlights of Stafford life very succinctly. I especially liked your reference to the environment, since environmental protection is a big part of my life. I wish you luck in the contest and all of your future scholastic endeavors.
