THE PANDEMIC FLU BROCHURE

Full Description:

The Stafford County, in partnership with the Rappahannock Area Health District, has provided the public with a brochure that answers concerns regarding the pandemic flu or avian influenza.

The brochure, entitled “What you should know about Pandemic Flu,” includes tips for preparing for a pandemic, how to limit the spread of the virus, and a list of supplies to have on hand if people have to stay home for extended periods of time.

Stafford is a member of the Health District’s Pandemic Flu Working Group that is developing a master plan to deal with the impact that a pandemic flu could have on citizens in the region. The group includes health specialists, emergency responders, law enforcement personnel, public information officers and volunteers who are making plans to handle the logistics of a pandemic and educate the public about how to contain the spread of the virus.

Copies of the brochure are available for free at the lobby of the Stafford Administration Center and at Porter Library.

Individuals may request a copy by calling the Public Information Office at 658-4159.
